Our inaugural track day next weekend draws ever closer and preparations are gathering pace. Involving more money than of course you think by the time you start totting it all up!
So far there is the track day cost itself with Lotus on Track, the high speed sea cat from Dover to Boulougne (new service), track day one off insurance in my case, an extra large helmet in Fatrat's case (he claims everything else in his anatomy is extra large too, not just the wine belly!), AA 5 star cover just in case etc etc. Not to mention 2 nights in what looks to be a delightful Chateau.
I will be devoting myself to some time on essential track day preparation - yes cleaning and polishing the Mazda! I may even check the oil and tyres but that might be going over the top. Fatrat did his best to scare the both of us by finding out the other likely attendees - 18 Elises/Exiges, 1 Clio v6 (we assume), 6 Caterhams, 1 x Bow, 2 Lotus 11's, 1 TVR Sagaris, 1 Honda S2000 and 1 Ariel Atom. As Fatrat says I am the cheapskate of the party.
