Plucking pheasant

This morning whilst blasting the RS4 across the Ashdown Forest on my way to Newhaven a plucking pheasant ran out in front and under the front of the car. It disappeared with a small puff and I thought no more of it until I reached my destination - To find the lower left hand plastic mesh had gone completely, together with the concealed headlamp washer and cover. I would not have believed that small bird could have done that unless I had seen it with my own eyes.

After my meeting, I retraced my journey and after some searching found a patch of feathers on the verge. The bird had been completely vapourised, but I found the plastic mesh and the headlamp washer cover intact. Refitted the mesh, which made me feel a good deal better as I bet it would have been the price of a small house from Audi. May the bird rest in peace.

Spring is in the air

This morning is looking promising - the temperature looks to be rising steadily, the sun is out and it is starting to feel decidedly spring-like. And not before time. The Mazda Turbo is definitely coming out to play today.

Last Monday I took her across to AFR Tuning in Crawley for a service, those guys seem to know what's what with tuned Japanese cars. Although I have completed barely 3,000 miles in 18 months of ownership it was certainly time for a fresh batch of Silkolene Pro S engine oil. All else fine, although as I already knew I will need a new set of tyres sometime over the summer, together with front pads and some braided brake lines.
