The Purple Panther

With all the atrocious and snowy weather and the small matter of Christmas getting in the way, it was not until earlier this week that Fatrat managed to cross the village to collect me for my promised ride in his new supercharged MX5. In view of Fatrat's continued absence on our blog, I will call it the Purple Panther until he can come up with something better:

Here she is in all her uncleaned glory:

You may not see from the photos, but there is some exquisite pink femine detailing on the number plates - A change is due soon.

Anyway, I was taken on an entertaining fast circuit of the Ashdown Forest (no plod around). The car certainly is very quick, with a very raucous engine note. A relaxing ride it was not, but the car should be very good on track days, of which more are planned for 2010. I live in eternal hope that Nick will post a full spec on here sometime soon!

Polishing pleasures!

I have a secret to announce - Fatrat my fellow blogger (with only a single entry to his name so far) has entered the MX 5 world by purchasing a very potent supercharged one from a chap in the wilds of Lincolnshire. I am hoping he will give it a full write up soon. I have not had a ride in it yet but have seen it when responding to his call to jump start it from a gym in East Grinstead! He blamed his wife for leaving the side lights on, typical.

Of course he has since been using it every day, come rain or shine - given the weather we have been having that has been more like taking a boat out and about. On the other hand my black beauty has been cosily ensconced in the garage throughout the washout. As I did not want her to feel neglected today I gave her a double resin polish up and a window polish inside and out!
